Porsche 944 Wheel Upgrade
We recently completed a wheel upgrade on a classic Porsche 944 at our German Car Specialists site in Sompting. Our customer wanted to replace the standard wheels and supplied their own set, so our Porsche specialist technician took care of swapping the tyres over, fitting the new wheels and balancing them for a smooth drive.
Job Type
No fault codes – this was a customer-requested wheel upgrade using wheels supplied by the customer
Why Upgrade Your Wheels?
- Refresh the look of a classic Porsche
- Replace tired or damaged original wheels
- Fit a style of wheel that suits your taste
- Keep your original wheels safe for the future
Tyre Transfer
We started by carefully removing the original tyres from the Porsche's standard wheels. The tyres were then fitted to the new wheels supplied by our customer, allowing them to keep using their existing tyres rather than buying a new set. Handling classic wheels and tyres takes care, so we made sure both the old and new wheels were protected throughout.

Porsche 944 Wheel Fitting & Balancing
Our Porsche specialist technician fitted the new wheels, with the original tyres, onto the 944. Each wheel was then balanced to make sure the Porsche would drive smoothly, without vibration or uneven tyre wear.
Resolution
With the new wheels fitted and balanced, we boxed up the original wheels and returned them to our customer. They were very pleased with the finished look of their Porsche 944, which now sits on the wheels they had chosen.
