Peugeot 5008 Boot Struts Failed
Our customer's Peugeot 5008 boot wouldn't stay open, and they were getting a bump on the head every time they went to use it. The tailgate would collapse under its own weight, so our Peugeot specialist technicians investigated the rear boot struts to find out why they had failed.

Peugeot 5008 Boot Strut Investigation
We tested both rear tailgate struts and found their seals had failed, causing them to lose all their gas pressure, so they could no longer hold the boot up. During our investigation, we also discovered the struts fitted to the car weren't just faulty, they were the wrong type for the vehicle, which had most likely caused them to fail prematurely.

Boot Strut Replacement
Once we had confirmed the struts had failed, we ordered a new pair of the correct struts for the Peugeot 5008. When they arrived, we removed the failed, incorrect struts and fitted the new ones, then checked the tailgate opened fully and stayed in place.
Resolution
With the correct boot struts fitted, our customer's Peugeot 5008 had a fully working boot again, with no more headaches, quite literally. Our customer left very satisfied and commented on our 'really lovely friendly staff'.
