Dealer-Standard Repairs
Why Choose Cedar Garage as Your Independent Porsche Specialist?
A Porsche needs repairing by people who know how it's put together. Our technicians work on the 911 (996, 997, 991 and 992), Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan and Panamera, and they know the faults that affect each generation: IMS bearing and rear main seal wear on the 996, 997, Boxster and Cayman, air oil separator failures, cracked coolant pipes on the V8 Cayenne, PDK and clutch faults, and tired PASM and air suspension. Because we confirm the fault with Porsche-specific diagnostic equipment before recommending any work, you only pay for the parts that actually fix the car.
Many Porsche repairs need coding, adaptations or a calibration afterwards, from PDK clutch adaptations and battery registration to steering angle and air suspension ride height. We carry this out in house, so your Porsche is repaired and ready to drive in one visit without a trip to a Porsche Centre. We follow Porsche's procedures and specifications, explain what needs doing now and what can wait, and never carry out extra work without your approval. If your Porsche can't be driven, or you can't get to us, we can collect it from you, and we can provide a hire car while it's being repaired.

Frequently Asked Questions
Porsche Repair FAQs
What Porsche repairs do you carry out?
We carry out all kinds of repairs on the 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan and Panamera, from brakes and suspension to gearbox, engine and electrical faults. If you're not sure what's wrong, we'll start with fault finding so the right repair is done first time.
How much will my Porsche repair cost?
It depends on what's wrong and the parts needed. We'll always give you a clear quote before any work starts, and we never carry out extra work without your approval.
Do I need to use a Porsche Centre, or will an independent garage affect my warranty?
You don't need to use a Porsche Centre. Having your Porsche repaired by an independent specialist won't affect its manufacturer's warranty, as long as the right parts are used. If you have a Porsche Approved warranty, it's worth checking its terms.
Can you replace the IMS bearing on my Porsche?
Yes. Some older Porsche engines have a bearing known as the IMS bearing, which can wear and cause serious engine damage. Give us a call with your registration and we'll let you know if your car is affected.
Why is my Porsche smoking on start-up?
There are a few possible causes, some simple and some more serious. Book in for fault finding and we'll check it properly before replacing anything.
Why is my Porsche losing coolant?
A coolant level that keeps dropping usually means there's a leak, from a pipe, the water pump or the expansion tank, for example. Book in for fault finding and we'll find the leak and fix it.
Can you repair PDK gearbox faults?
Yes. If you're seeing a gearbox warning or the gear changes feel jerky or delayed, book in and we'll find the cause and get it changing gear as it should.
Can you fix my Porsche air suspension?
Yes. If your Porsche is sitting low or showing a suspension warning, book in for fault finding. We'll find the faulty part, replace it and set the ride height correctly.
Are your Porsche repairs guaranteed?
Yes. Our repairs come with a 12-month guarantee, so you can drive away with confidence.
